About the Role

We’re recruiting for a Trading Support Process Specialist to join our Central Planning team, responsible for supporting the creation and delivery of clear and consistent processes and ways of working within Trading.

  • Take ownership of the change process and how it shapes the business areas that are affected, supporting projects within our strategic delivery roadmap as well as any newly generated work across the Trading departments.
  • Support the bridge between the IT Management team and the Trading floor, explaining technical issues and solutions to wider Central Planning team
  • Positively challenge the wider teams and management to drive consistent processes and ways of working, engaging with key stakeholders and gaining buy-in.
  • Develop a network of internal peers to maintain awareness of upcoming business process and systems changes, ensuring business readiness & sustainability plans are put in place and monitored
  • Work closely with Senior Management and the wider Central Team Management to ensure the Trading Support Process strategy is aligned with Trading and the wider business strategy
  • Liaise with management across the Trading teams to ensure ownership of relevant topics and change projects, delivering the agreed process and achieving Matalan’s goals.
  • Ensure that Super User groups and project teams are fit for purpose and supplied with the necessary tools to complete the job.
  • Gather and capture business process and translate into ‘To be’ processes, continually seeking improvement opportunities by introducing new tools and techniques

About You

  • Proven experience of working in similar role, ideally within a retail environment
  • Ability to confidently engage with stakeholders & the wider business
  • Strong Microsoft Office & Visio skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Exceptional relationship management ability
  • Ability to see the bigger picture of a project and articulate the impact of change to all levels of the business
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring on process mapping tools and approaches
  • Ability to positively challenge at all levels
