About the Role

As a Social Media Executive working under the direction of the Senior Social Media Manager, you will create and maintain a strong online presence for our company through social media accounts including: Instagram, Instagram Stories, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Youtube. You will endeavour to grow following and brand awareness on all channels by implementing online marketing strategies and by creating a weekly content calendar for all channels.

  • Day to day management of social media accounts including managing the social media calendar
  • Developing the tone of voice for all channels by working closely with the copy writing team
  • Weekly/monthly reports on performance, growth, engagement and revenue driven from channels, plus reports on adhoc/seasonal social campaigns
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Develop innovative and creative content across social media platforms and contribute to the overall social media strategy
  • Work with the design team to create engaging, sharable content across all channels to tie in with trading calendar and which will create buzz around new products and launches
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
  • Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries, working closely with the customer care team
  • Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans
  • Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, like promotions and competitions
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a  cohesive social media identity
  • Keep track of social media trends and competition
  • Work with the regional team to maintain best practices for regional store accounts
  • Cover seasonal and adhoc events on social channels that are relevant to the Matalan audience
  • Supporting the Press Team on large scale events such as seasonal launches and trips which may require working some early mornings/late evenings/weekends

About You

  • Proven work experience as a Social media coordinator
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
  • Ability to gasp future trends in digital technologies and act proactively
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multitasking and analytical skills
  • BS degree in Marketing, New media or relevant field
  • Some influencer outreach experience is desirable, with good contacts.
  • Some monthly travel to our Liverpool Head Office will be required
